Both teams scored four tries. Claudia Moloney-MacDonald crossed twice for England, with Hannah Botterman and Bryony Field also scoring. Canada’s DaLeaka Menin supplied two tries, while Lizzie Gibson and Olivia Apps added one each. Zoe Harrison and Sophie de Goede each kicked three conversions.
The teams reached half-time level at 19–19. Field’s try gave England a second-half advantage before Apps finished a move following a break by De Goede to help Canada draw level again.
England pressed for a late winner but were held up over the line and then lost possession at a ruck, according to The Guardian’s match report.
The draw comes after England beat Canada in the 2025 World Cup final. The sides are scheduled to meet in two further WXV Tests in Canada this autumn.
