Suno introduced its v6 generation of AI music models on September 9, 2026, and said it would retire earlier versions as the new range rolls out.
In its launch announcement, the company said the models were developed with music-industry partners including Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe. The release gives users three options aimed at different approaches to making music.
The flagship v6 model and a more experimental variant, v6-wild, are available to Pro and Premier subscribers. A smaller version, v6-mini, is available to all users, according to Suno.
The company says the new tools can edit sections of a song through written instructions, combine material from multiple songs and change individual lyrics without rebuilding the whole track. Those are company descriptions of the features; their performance has not been independently tested for this report.
The transition also means existing users will move to the new generation. Suno’s announcement did not specify a final retirement date for the older models.
